Americans Rank Most Favored Nations

The Gallop Polls recent polling of Americans on their opinion towards 19 countries showed that Canada is still our number one most favored nation beating Great Britain with 90% and 89% respectively. On the other end, Iran takes last with North Korea in a close tie with The Palestinian Authority for second to last with 12% and 15% respectively. Canada and Great Britain claiming the top two positions is not surprising in my opinion, especially considering how close our nations are.

With all the media coverage on how The Palestinian Authority are the victims in every conflict with Israel why does The Palestinian Authority rank second to last and Israel is ranked seventh with 63% of American's viewing Israel in a favorable opinion. I guess the media in the States is fairly out of touch with the average American with these kind of numbers. The media is always fast to point out that Hamas is the legitimately elected government of the Gaza Strip after the 2006 elections.

So if we are considering Gaza Strip a country, as the media wants it to be, than all the rockets that Hamas fires un-aimed at Israeli settlements are acts of war. Israel is just defending itself than. If a nation attacks the United State, we shouldn't use words to condemn the attacks, but retaliate with the full force of power at our disposal to protect our citizenry from further attacks.

The Difference Between Conservatives and Liberals, Part I

Senator McCain has been attempting to bring to light the fact that Senator Obama does not just know William Ayers but is a close friend to him. Ayers was a founder of the left-wing radical domestic terrorist group known as the Weather Underground which targeted U.S. governmental buildings and any organization that disagreed with them. Some of their "accomplishments" were bombing the NYPD headquarters (6/9/70), bombing of the United States Capital building (3/1/71), bombing the Pentagon (5/19/72), and the bombing of Gulf Oil headquarters in Pittsburg (6/17/74).

Senator McCain has been accused of trying to smear Senator Obama by the media for attempting to bring to light this fairly important information. Especially considering that Senator Obama's original political career started in Bill Ayer's living room. The Obama Campaign is trying to say that they knew each other from an educational conference to reform education and that was it. I guess that's true if you want to ignore everything else.

Now Senator Obama is attempting to bring to light the fact that Senator McCain was a member of the Keating Five, which was a political scandel over the Savings and Loans crisis of the 1980's. Senator McCain was the ONLY Republican accused in this scandel. While Senators John Glenn (OH), Alan Cranston (CA), Dennis DeConcini (AZ), and Donald Riegle (MI) where the four other members. Only Senator Glenn and McCain had all charges dropped. In the following commission that investigated these five, the following quote from a Washington attorney, Robert S. Bennett:

“After reviewing my report, the committee voted on October 23, 1990, to hold a public adjudicatory fact-finding hearing in the matter as to all five senators. This was perhaps the first time the recommendation of a special counsel not to charge a senator was rejected. This was pure politics as the Democrats on the committee did not want to cut McCain loose so that only Democrats would remain in the proceedings. If Senator McCain was not going to be cut loose, in retaliation the Republicans were going to keep Senator Glenn in the proceedings. McCain was the victim of politics, and poor Glenn was held captive to the decision on McCain. So much for nonpartisanship.”

The media is attempting to forget this section of the Keating Five scandel. Though they aren't attempting to accuse Senator Obama of smearing Senator McCain. They are praising him for bringing this to light.

So when a conservative(ish) candidate is bringing to light true information about a liberal candidate he is smearing the liberal. Though when the liberal brings to light only a portion of the truth or even distorts it to suit their needs, they are praised for bringing to light true information. Wow, you gotta love our double standard here. Well, this cartoon from RedPlanetCartoons.com sums up my thoughts perfectly.

Socialism Here We Come!

When you live in a country that claims to be "Capitalist" one would expect that you had the free will to succeed or fail on one's own ability or lack of ability. One would expect that the governments job would be to make sure that the laws of the land are being upheld and there is no major foul play going on. Is that what is happening in the United States of America today? Of course not, because we are becoming a Socialist nation. Just like the good old European Union.

Just a short while ago, the Federal government announced that they were taking over Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac because of the Mortgage Crisis currently taking place in the US. You would think that people had enough common sense to understand that they are in DEBT when they take out loans. But surprisingly, they act as if it is "free" money and keep spending all that they earn and then some. And when those in debt end up declaring bankruptcy, they scream bloody murder that the "evil corporations" are just out to take their money. They don't think of the little person.

Well, when the banks want to decline your request for a loan because they know you will be a risk to them, you once again scream for help to the federal government. Once again, it is for "free" money because the bank was discriminating against you because you are (insert anything here). Just slightly over a century ago, if you went in debt, the person/bank/corporation who you owed money to could have you thrown into a "debtor's jail" and have you work off your loan. You were set free once it was paid off. Restarting that process might stop these at risk people from taking out risky loans that they know they cannot pay back.

But the reason that the US is now one step closer to socialism than capitalism today is the take over of another major institution in the US economy. AIG was just given an $85 BILLION loan for 79.9% of the stock. So Uncle Sam gets one new corporation under his belt, but where is he getting this "free" money from to buy AIG? Why, it is you and me! We are the ones footing the bill for Uncle Sam.

Why can't we let those who loan out money decline loans to those they know can't pay them? Why must the US tax-paying citizens foot the bill when these corporations can't support themselves? Why must the majority of the US let the minority dictate our laws? Why does the US Constitution now say whatever the Democrats want it to say? Those questions have no real answers to them, just like "Who is John Galt?"

These words mean more today than they do when they were spoken.

Do you want to lead your life the way you want to? Do you want to be able to climb the ladder of society on your own freewill and effort? Do you want to be able to preserve our great nation for future generations?

If you answered 'Yes' to these questions, than Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin are your candidates in November.

Do you think the Federal government has the God given right to provide for us, the citizenry? Do you believe that the Federal government has the right to tell you that you cannot eat specific foods because they are not healthy for you?

If you answered 'No' to these questions, than Senator John McCain and Governor Sarah Palin are once again your candidates in November.

On one final note, "Who is John Galt?" For all of you who know, I've just started the book and don't ruin it for me! I can't put it down!
